Terms of Use & Community Guidelines

Last updated: July 8, 2026
The short version: Be kind and accurate, post only your own content, don't reveal exact locations of rare plants, and don't rely on Bloomline to decide what's safe to eat or touch. We can remove content and accounts that break these rules.

1. Using Bloomline

Bloomline is a free community field guide. By using it you agree to these terms. You must be old enough to consent in your country (at least 13, or 16 where required). You're responsible for activity under your account.

2. Community guidelines

When you post field notes, links, or sightings, please:

Protect sensitive species. Do not pin the precise location of rare, endangered, threatened, or protected plants. Leave the location off, or keep it general. Publishing exact locations can expose these plants to poaching, trampling, and collection.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant Bloomline a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute that content within the app so the community can see it. You can delete your content at any time, which ends that license going forward (copies already shown to or saved by others may persist).

4. Moderation

Anyone can report a note or link. We may review reported content and remove anything that violates these guidelines, and we may suspend or remove accounts that repeatedly or seriously break the rules. We aren't obligated to monitor all content and may act (or not) at our discretion.

5. Plant identification & safety disclaimer

Do not rely on Bloomline for foraging, medicinal, or safety decisions. Plant names, photos, edibility, and toxicity information come from open community data and automated sources and may be incomplete or wrong. Never eat, touch, or use a plant based on Bloomline. Misidentification can cause serious harm or death. Always confirm with a qualified expert.

6. No warranty

Bloomline is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Plant data, bloom timing, locations, and images may be inaccurate or unavailable. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bloomline and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any harm arising from your use of the app or reliance on its content, including plant identification or foraging decisions.

8. Changes & contact

We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date will change and significant updates will be noted in the app. Questions: hello@bloomline.app. See also our Privacy Policy.

Note for the operator: this is a starting-point draft, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified professional and adapt the liability, governing-law, and age sections to your jurisdiction before relying on it.
